The Lake Vyrnwy Hotel & Spa is a privately-owned high-profile Welsh 4 Star Country House hotel with 52 rooms, two extremely busy Restaurants and one AA Rosette. We host a large variety of special occasions such as weddings, corporate events, celebrations etc. The hotel is uniquely located alongside the Snowdonia National Park, overlooking iconic Lake Vyrnwy and forms part of the 24,000-acre RSPB reserve attracting visitors from all over the world who come to simply relax or to sample a wide variety of outdoor activities.
We are looking for a talented, enthusiastic Restaurant / Bar Supervisor to join our team.
Reporting to the Restaurant Manager, assisting in the day to day food & beverage operations, this is an extremely busy, varied and hands on role. You will be running shifts and managing a team of up to 10, ensuring our customers are well looked after and colleagues are motivated, managed and supported.
Duties include:
· Check that all food and beverage areas are clean and fully prepared for service, anticipating requirements for the weeks ahead.
· Assist with team training, ensuring all team members are cross trained for all F&B sections.
· React quickly to changes in service requirements, ensuring the right staff are in the right place at the right time
· Stock rotation and ordering
· Provide cover for the Restaurant Manager where required including preparation of rotas
· Establish and maintain effective communication with other departments to ensure the highest standard of customer satisfaction
· Assist guests in a friendly and courteous manner, taking food & drink orders, demonstrating a good knowledge of the products on offer, taking every opportunity to upsell.
· Promote a safe, healthy, and environmentally secure place of work with adherence to new COVID regulations and overall cleaning/housekeeping requirements
Essential
· Previous Bar / Restaurant supervisory experience
· Calm and confident with excellent communicator
· Strong management and motivational skills, able to lead by example.
· Focus on continuous improvement and teamwork
· Excellent organisation skills.
· Friendly and professional.
· Enthusiasm and passion for the food and beverage industry.

This is a permanent, full time role covering a variety of shifts including evening and weekend service and Bank Holidays, as part of a rota, typically 40 hours per week, working 5 days out of 7.
