Full job description

Restaurant & Bar Supervisor

Script Restaurant & Bar, The Hertsmere

Salary: £30,000

Hands-on restaurant leadership experience essential

This is a floor supervisor role, not a desk job. You will lead the shift and still work the floor.

You will run the restaurant to a consistently high standard, lead the team during service, keep the room looking sharp, and make sure guests leave with a good experience. That includes briefing the team, controlling the floor, working closely with the kitchen, and staying in touch with the golf team when player numbers change.

Hours

The restaurant operates 07:00–22:00, and until 02:00 for events. This role includes early starts, evenings, weekends and late event finishes.

You must be able to get to and from the site reliably across those hours. Free on-site parking is available.

What you will do

  • Own the daily briefing so the team is ready on reservations, specials, allergens, VIPs, events and priorities
  • Run the floor during service — seating, timing, section balance and overall flow
  • Keep the team focused and productive, including during quieter periods
  • Work closely with the kitchen so food goes out on time and to standard
  • Stay in regular contact with the golf team on player numbers, groups and anything that affects trade
  • Step in wherever needed: serving, running, clearing, bar support or kitchen liaison
  • Protect the look of the restaurant — tables, floors, glassware, cutlery, presentation and cleanliness
  • Support stock counts, ordering and basic inventory when required
  • Complete opening and closing duties, paperwork and handovers accurately
  • Coach in the moment: correct issues quickly and fairly, and recognise good work
  • Handle guest issues calmly, take ownership and resolve them where you can

Who this is for

  • Experience leading a restaurant or bar floor, not only working on one
  • A clear communicator who can brief well, give direction and keep standards consistent
  • Reliable, organised and comfortable owning a full shift, including open and close
  • High personal standards of appearance, energy and professionalism
  • Calm with guests and steady with the team when service gets busy
  • Comfortable working with kitchen and golf-side teams so the whole guest experience stays joined up
  • Able to travel to Radlett / Elstree for early starts and event finishes through to 02:00

How we work

The role sits on four pillars: High Performance, Dedication, Leadership & Influence, and Unrelenting High Standards. In practice that means an organised floor, full ownership of your shifts, clear leadership, and a refusal to let presentation, cleanliness or service drift.

If you are a hands-on supervisor who likes running a room properly, and you can commit to the hours this site needs, we would like to hear from you.

  • Pay: £30,000.00 per year
