Overview It is the responsibility of the Host/Hostess to greet guests as the enter the outlet, take reservations if needed, show the guest to their table and provide menus. Responsibilities ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Greet guests in a friendly manner Seat guests and provide menus Answering phone calls, take reservations as needed, answer guests’ questions. Knowledge of menu items. Attends pre-shift meetings. Maintains uniform appearance according to established guidelines. Welcomes guests, removes extra set-ups, and serves water to guests. Assists Food Server as needed. Assists with maintaining a neat, clean, and safe working environment. Turns-over/Takes-over station according to established procedure. Assist with to-go orders. Assist with sorting, polishing and rolling up silverware. Completes special projects as requested by Food & Beverage management. Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the duties and responsibilities satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Minimum age requirement is 18 years old. Health card is required Must have great people skills, a clean and well-groomed appearance, and to be respectful of everyone. Must read, write, speak, and understand English. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Experience preferred but will train willing individual. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Basic Math Skills. Language Skills: Must be able to speak and understand English. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Ability to move throughout the hotel (standing, walking, kneeling, and bending) for extended periods of time. Ability to sit for extended periods of time. Ability to express or exchange ideas verbally and perceive sound by ear. Ability to regularly move objects (lift, push, pull, balance, carry) up to 50 pounds. Constantly walking up to distances of 500 ft. during shift. Frequently stooping, reaching. WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work performed indoors in a climate-controlled environment.
