Job Summary: As a restaurant hostess, your main responsibility is to create a positive and welcoming atmosphere for guests. You will greet and seat customers, manage reservations, and assist in coordinating the flow of guests to ensure efficient operations. Your exceptional interpersonal skills and organizational abilities will contribute to the overall success of the restaurant.

Responsibilities:

  • Greeting and seating guests:
  • Warmly welcome guests as they enter the restaurant and provide a friendly and professional first impression.
  • Assist guests in finding suitable seating arrangements based on their preferences and the availability of tables.
  • Manage the waiting list during busy periods, ensuring guests are informed about estimated wait times.
  • Maintain a neat and organized reception area.
  • Reservation management:
  • Answer phone calls and assist guests with inquiries, reservation requests, and special event inquiries.
  • Record and manage reservations accurately, utilizing reservation management software or manual systems.
  • Coordinate with the dining staff and kitchen team to ensure efficient table turnover and minimize wait times.
  • Confirm reservations, provide special instructions or accommodations, and follow up with guests as needed.
  • Take food and beverage orders:
  • Present menus to guests and provide recommendations or answer questions about menu items.
  • Take accurate orders from customers, ensuring special requests or dietary restrictions are noted.
  • Enter orders into the point-of-sale system and relay them to the kitchen staff.
  • Serve meals and beverages:
  • Deliver food and beverages to the appropriate tables in a timely manner.
  • Ensure accuracy in serving the correct dishes and drinks to the corresponding guests.
  • Provide attentive service throughout the meal, addressing any customer needs or requests promptly.
  • Check back with customers to ensure satisfaction and handle any issues or concerns.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization:
  • Set up dining tables and ensure they are properly arranged and clean before seating guests.
  • Clear and clean tables between guests and prepare them for the next diners.
  • Monitor the cleanliness of the dining area, including floors, windows, and restrooms.
  • Assist with general cleaning tasks, such as sweeping, mopping, and resetting tables.
  • Communication and customer service:
  • Effectively communicate with guests, dining staff, and management to ensure smooth operations and guest satisfaction.
  • Provide information about the restaurant, including menu offerings, specials, and promotions.
  • Address guest concerns or complaints promptly and professionally, seeking assistance from management when necessary.
  • Assist in resolving seating or service issues to ensure a positive dining experience for all guests.
  • Collaborating with the restaurant team:
  • Liaise with the dining staff, kitchen staff, and management to maintain a coordinated and efficient workflow.
  • Communicate special requests, dietary restrictions, and other relevant guest information to the appropriate team members.
  • Assist in organizing and coordinating private events, including handling reservations, setup, and guest management.
  • Cash handling and administrative tasks:
  • Handle cash transactions accurately and securely, ensuring proper reconciliation at the end of each shift.
  • Maintain and update guest records, reservation logs, and other administrative documents as required.
  • Assist in general restaurant duties, such as answering phones, taking messages, and providing assistance to other team members when needed.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Previous experience as a restaurant hostess or in a customer service role is preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally and courteously with guests.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Positive and friendly demeanor, with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Proficiency in using reservation management software and basic computer skills.
  • Knowledge of the restaurant’s menu, layout, and services to provide accurate information to guests.
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: AED3,000.00 - AED4,500.00 per mont
