Restaurant Manager – Full-Time (1 position)

Mair and Doveton Pty Ltd is looking for a qualified and experienced Full-time Restaurant Manager to join our team.

Location: Ballarat, VIC 3350

Salary: $80,000 – $85,000 per annum + superannuation

Occupation: Restaurant Manager (ANZSCO 141111)

We are seeking an experienced Restaurant Manager to manage and oversee the daily operations of our restaurant in Ballarat.

Key Responsibilities

  • Planning menus in consultation with Chefs to ensure quality, variety, and cost efficiency
  • Planning, organising, and overseeing special functions and events
  • Coordinating and supervising kitchen and dining room operations
  • Ensuring strict compliance with food safety standards and sanitary regulations
  • Arranging purchasing, ordering, and pricing of food and supplies in line with budgetary requirements
  • Ordering ingredients in appropriate quantities to meet operational demands
  • Maintaining accurate records of stock levels, purchases, and financial transactions
  • Working closely with management to meet revenue, cost control, and profitability objectives
  • Ensuring dining facilities comply with health regulations and maintain a clean, functional, and presentable environment
  • Managing customer service operations, including handling enquiries, complaints, and feedback
  • Conferring with customers to assess satisfaction with meals and service and implementing improvements where required
  • Recruiting, training, rostering, and supervising staff
  • Taking reservations, greeting guests, and assisting with service operations when required Skills and Qualifications

Skills, Qualifications & Experience

  • Relevant qualification in Hospitality Management or a related field (Certificate III, IV, Diploma or higher), or equivalent industry experience
  • Relevant full-time experience in a restaurant or café management role
  • Proven ability to manage daily restaurant operations, including staff supervision, rostering, and performance management
  • Sound knowledge of food safety, hygiene, WHS, and Australian hospitality regulations
  • Strong skills in budgeting, stock control, ordering, and financial record-keeping
  • Excellent customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced hospitality environment
