QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Restaurant Manager in a dynamic, high-volume setting
  • Valid ProServe Certification required
  • Previous experience in cocktail curation, bar operations, and beverage costing would be considered a valuable asset
  • Exceptional communication, organizational, and leadership skills
  • Genuine passion for the Food & Beverage industry, with a commitment to exceeding guest expectations and building the city’s most talented restaurant team
  • Proven expertise in menu development, strategic offerings, impactful marketing initiatives, and online reputation management
  • Demonstrated success in driving revenue and profitability without compromising colleague satisfaction or guest experience

Responsibilities
  • Accountable for managing the day to day operations of Hawthorn with active presence on the restaurant floor leading your team to deliver service excellence
  • Work in supporting the General Manager and Restaurant Chef to execute the smooth and flawless operation of both the Front and Heart of House.
  • Work in supporting the General Manager, Restaurant Chef, Head Bartender, and Mixologists to create and maintain all restaurant menus while in keeping with the overall concept
  • Constantly drive innovation to redefine the Calgary culinary experience by actively promoting Hawthorn within the community
  • Effectively recruit and onboard new colleagues
  • Train and lead the team in all aspects of the department to ensure service standards are followed
  • Promote the growth and development of internal talent
  • Proactively engaging with guests to gather feedback, resolve any issues and turn negative experiences into positive outcomes to ensure satisfaction.
  • Observes guest behavior and cues to identify potential concerns before they escalate.
  • Abides by all ProServe regulations to ensure responsible alcohol service and full compliance with Alberta liquor laws.
  • Accountable for driving revenue and profit through the development and implementation of strategies, practices and promotions while keeping with the overall concept of the venue
  • Actively assist in managing restaurant social media accounts in partnership with the General Manager, Restaurant Chef, and Marketing Team
  • Working with the Restaurant Leadership & Marketing Teams, manage online reputation by responding to feedback, comments and/or reviews in a timely and professional manner, addressing any concerns.
  • Assist with management of the departmental budget
  • Maintain the health, safety and sanitation of the restaurant
  • Collaborate with other departments to contribute to the overall smooth operation of the hotel
