About Kai Kebab

Kai Kebab is a dinning in and takeaway business located in Darwin, Northern Territory. We are seeking an experienced and motivated Restaurant Manager to oversee our day-to-day restaurant operations and lead our team.

About the role

The Restaurant Manager will be responsible for managing the daily operations of the restaurant while maintaining high standards of customer service, food quality, hygiene and staff performance.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate daily restaurant operations.
  • Supervise, train and support restaurant employees.
  • Prepare staff rosters and allocate duties.
  • Maintain high standards of customer service.
  • Monitor food preparation, presentation and portion control.
  • Manage stock levels, ordering and inventory.
  • Monitor food costs and minimise food wastage.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety requirements.
  • Handle customer enquiries, feedback and complaints.
  • Monitor daily sales and restaurant performance.
  • Assist with budgeting, pricing and cost-control activities.
  • Maintain records relating to staffing, stock and restaurant operations.
  • Coordinate opening and closing procedures.
  • Ensure equipment and restaurant facilities are maintained.
  • Implement workplace policies and procedures.
  • Assist with promotional activities and business improvement initiatives.
  • Lead, motivate and develop restaurant staff.

Skills and experience

The successful applicant will have:

  • Previous experience in restaurant, café or hospitality management.
  • Demonstrated staff supervision and team-management experience.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Experience with staff rostering.
  • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene requirements.
  • Experience with stock control and inventory management.
  • Understanding of food costing, portion control and waste reduction.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • Good problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and lead a team.
  • Flexibility to work weekends and public holidays when required.
