The Victoria Oxshott is a 3 Rosette fine-dining pub in Surrey, combining high-quality food and wine with warm, relaxed and genuinely hospitable service.
We pride ourselves on delivering an exceptional guest experience without losing the character and atmosphere of a great British pub. With a strong food and beverage offering, a busy events calendar and a growing reputation for quality, we are looking for an experienced and passionate Restaurant Manager to join our management team.
The Role
As Restaurant Manager, you will play a key role in the day-to-day running of the restaurant and wider operation, ensuring consistently high standards of food, service and hospitality.
You will be a visible and hands-on leader who leads by example, motivates the team and takes ownership of the guest experience from arrival through to departure.
Working closely with the General Manager, Head Chef and wider management team, you will help drive operational excellence, team performance and commercial success.
Key Responsibilities
Guest Experience & Service
* Deliver consistently exceptional service in line with 3 Rosette standards.
* Be present on the floor and lead service from the front.
* Build strong relationships with regular guests and ensure every customer feels genuinely welcomed and valued.
* Handle guest feedback, complaints and special requests professionally and effectively.
* Maintain a relaxed, warm and knowledgeable style of hospitality while ensuring high standards are never compromised.
* Ensure the restaurant, bar and guest areas are consistently presented to the highest standard.
Team Leadership
* Lead, motivate and develop the front-of-house team.
* Set clear expectations around service standards, professionalism and conduct.
* Support recruitment, onboarding and training of new team members.
* Deliver regular service training and coaching.
* Manage performance issues fairly and consistently alongside the senior management team.
* Lead pre-service briefings and ensure the team is fully informed about menus, allergens, bookings, events and daily priorities.
* Support the development of junior team members and future supervisors/managers.
Food, Wine & Product Knowledge
* Maintain an excellent knowledge of the food and beverage offering.
* Ensure the team can confidently explain dishes, ingredients, allergens and preparation methods to guests.
* Encourage confident wine, beer and beverage recommendations.
* Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure smooth communication between front and back of house.
