Position: Restaurant Manager
Location: The Little Haven Hotel, South Shields
The Little Haven Hotel is seeking a skilled and experienced Restaurant Manager to join our team and oversee the daily operations of our restaurant. As a Restaurant Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring exceptional customer service, maintaining high standards of food quality, and creating a positive and efficient dining experience for our guests.
Responsibilities:
Team Leadership: Supervise and coordinate the restaurant staff, including servers, hosts/hostesses, and bussers. Assign tasks and responsibilities, provide training, and ensure that staff members adhere to all operational and service standards.
Customer Service: Ensure that guests are warmly welcomed and that their dining experience exceeds expectations. Respond promptly and professionally to customer enquiries, concerns, and complaints, resolving issues to ensure customer satisfaction.
Operational Efficiency: Oversee the daily operations of the restaurant, including opening and closing procedures, table setup, and cleanliness. Monitor reservation systems and seating arrangements to optimize table turnover and manage guest flow effectively.
Food Quality and Presentation: Ensure that food and beverage items are prepared and served in accordance with established quality and presentation standards. Collaborate with the kitchen staff to maintain consistent food quality, handle special requests or dietary requirements and address any issues promptly.
Staff Training and Development: Conduct ongoing training sessions for restaurant staff to enhance their knowledge of menu items, service techniques, and customer engagement skills. Provide coaching and feedback to promote professional growth and improve performance.
Health and Safety Compliance: Enforce hygiene and safety regulations to maintain a clean and safe dining environment. Conduct regular inspections and ensure compliance with health codes, food safety standards, and company policies.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Restaurant Supervisor or a similar role within the hospitality industry.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
  • Strong customer service orientation and the ability to handle customer concerns with tact and professionalism.
  • In-depth knowledge of restaurant operations.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with guests, staff, and management.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with health and safety regulations and a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and holidays as required.
