Restaurant Manager Wine Bar & Restaurant

Salary: $70,000 – $90,000 + superannuation, depending on experience

We are looking for an experienced, passionate and personable Restaurant Manager to join our team at a wine bar and restaurant.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who genuinely loves hospitality, has a strong understanding of food and wine, and takes pride in creating exceptional experiences for guests. We are looking for a manager who can lead from the front, build a great team and ensure the venue operates to a consistently high standard.

The Role

As Restaurant Manager, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the venue, working closely with the owners and kitchen team to ensure a seamless and memorable experience for our guests.

You will be responsible for maintaining high standards across service, staff performance, guest experience and venue presentation, while fostering a positive and professional workplace culture.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing the day-to-day operation of the restaurant and wine bar
  • Leading, motivating and developing the front-of-house team
  • Maintaining exceptional standards of food, wine and beverage service
  • Delivering warm, knowledgeable and attentive guest service
  • Taking an active role on the floor and leading by example
  • Managing reservations, bookings and guest relationships
  • Handling customer feedback and resolving issues professionally
  • Staff training, onboarding and ongoing development
  • Preparing and managing staff rosters
  • Ensuring compliance with workplace health and safety, RSA and other relevant regulations
  • Monitoring stock levels and assisting with ordering and inventory management
  • Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, presentation and venue organisation
  • Working closely with the kitchen and management team to ensure smooth service
  • Assisting with cost control, wage management and other operational requirements
  • Contributing to the development of the venue's service standards and culture

About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has previous experience as a Restaurant Manager, Assistant Manager, Sommelier or senior hospitality professional
  • Has a genuine passion for food, wine and hospitality
  • Is confident leading a team in a busy, high-quality restaurant environment
  • Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Understands what exceptional hospitality looks like
  • Has strong attention to detail and takes pride in presentation
  • Is calm, organised and solutions-focused under pressure
  • Is confident dealing with guests and building strong customer relationships
  • Has a strong understanding of wine and beverage service
  • Is commercially minded and understands the importance of labour, stock and cost control
  • Leads by example and is willing to be hands-on when required
  • Is looking for a long-term opportunity with a venue where they can make a genuine contribution
