JOB DESCRIPTION:

Thai Thani, located in Papamoa, close to Mt. Maunganui, is looking for a dynamic Hospitality Professional to join our small, but busy team, on a full-time basis. As the Restaurant Manager, your overall responsibility is to ensure a memorable and authentic dining experience for our customers, which will be achieved through:

  • Overseeing the daily functioning of the restaurant, including front-of-house and back-of-house activities
  • Staff Management – Seeking, hiring and training staff to provide high levels of service, as well as preparing and managing shift rosters
  • Stock Control and Inventory Management - Monitor/maintain inventory levels by ensuring food storage and handling protocols are adhered to at all times to minimise waste and cost
  • Menu Planning in conjunction with the Chef to ensure menu is priced correctly while ensuring food quality is high but also cost-effective
  • Financial Management through Managing budgets, controlling costs, tracking sales and expenses. Creating and presenting monthly financial reports on the restaurant’s operation
  • Ensure a high level of compliance with health and safety regulations, licensing requirements and other relevant industry standards and requirements
  • Marketing and Promotional activities which benefit the restaurant as well as our local community
  • From time to time and when necessary, working on the restaurant floor, taking orders, delivering meals and following up with customer feedback

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • You will have (or have the ability to obtain), your LCQ and Manager’s Certificate
  • Be a team player
  • Be willing to submit to random drug testing
  • Be prepared to work split shifts as well as evenings and weekends
  • Have access to reliable transport
