Under the Ensana brand, we manage two hotels in Buxton, situated adjacent to each other, they are the Buxton Crescent Hotel & Old Hall hotel.
Buxton is a lovely historic spa town which is nestled in beautiful surrounding countryside within Derbyshire. Close to the county boundary with Cheshire to the west and Staffordshire to the south, Buxton is described as “the gateway to the Peak District National Park”.
The Buxton Crescent is an historic iconic grade 1 listed building. It is one of the most architecturally significant buildings in the country. “The Crescent was the centrepiece of the Fifth Duke of Devonshire’s plans to establish a fashionable Georgian spa town in Buxton, originally having two hotels and lodges. The Crescent has undergone an extensive redevelopment and restoration completed in October 2020, the luxury hotel offers circa 81 bedrooms, including suites, extensive spa facilities, with a thermal natural water spa, and spa lounge. The hotel has a stunning restaurant, bar and incorporates the magnificent Assembly Rooms, Card Room, and conference meeting rooms for business meetings and weddings. Buxton Crescent Hotel & Thermal Spa offers our guests an ultimate luxury 5* experience.
The Old Hall hotel is reputed to be the oldest hotel in the UK, brimming with charm and full of historic character our guests love. Situated opposite the beautiful Pavilion Gardens and within the vicinity of the famous Buxton Opera House, this is a quirky small friendly hotel which offers warmth working within such a small team.

THE ROLE

We are looking for Restaurant Manager who would enjoy working in the luxury Historic Buxton Crescent Hotel. The Manager shall exceed guests’ expectations by consistently providing a warm, professional, and efficient 5-star service in the 1789 Restaurant.

OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE

• To ensure the correct preparation and service of all food & beverage items to a 5-star standard, and all team are trained to deliver this consistently
• Responsible for 5-star service for all guests in the Restaurant, ensure preparation, team briefing and managing service throughout to exceed guest expectations.
• Be responsible for the ordering/requisition of stock on a daily basis where this is required at sufficient levels to ensure shelves are stocked
• To ensure all glasses washed and polished and stored correctly, before being offered to a guest
• To ensure that pre-dinner ‘nibbles’ are prepared and distributed throughout bar areas.
• To report any hazards or faulty equipment to the Maintenance and Operations Manager
• To ensure all the team are on shift on time and in correct uniform
• To organise the team on duty, allocating breaks and responsibilities.
• To ensure correct procedures are adhered to for requisitioning, transfers and any other administration work involved.
