JOB OVERVIEW

Cuba 1918 is seeking a dynamic and experienced Restaurant Operations and Events Manager to oversee daily restaurant operations and lead the coordination of private events, catering, and community engagement. This hybrid role blends restaurant leadership, guest service excellence, and event planning. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with a passion for hospitality, strong operational acumen, and the ability to build lasting connections within the community.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3–5 years of experience in restaurant management and/or event coordination.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to supervise and motivate a team.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Experience with event management software.
  • Background in catering or hospitality event planning is a plus.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Familiarity with POS systems and basic financial reporting.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
  • Support the General Manager in managing all front-of-house operations, including host, bar, and server teams.
  • Ensure consistent execution of service standards, cleanliness, and safety protocols.
  • Monitor compliance with health, safety, and sanitation guidelines.
  • Train, coach, and evaluate team members; lead recruitment and onboarding efforts.
  • Build weekly schedules and manage staffing based on business needs.
  • Address guest concerns promptly and professionally to maintain satisfaction.
  • Implement upselling and hospitality strategies to drive revenue and enhance guest experiences.
  • Maintain a visible floor presence during peak hours and special events.
  • Review operational and financial reports to optimize cost control and improve profitability.
