SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 1+ year of experience in a supervisory or team lead role in food service or retail.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic math and cash handling skills.
  • Availability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed.
  • Must possess or obtain a California Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) Certification if serving alcohol (required as of 2022).
  • Under California Food Handler Card Law (SB 602), management must have a valid California Food Handler Card within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assists in opening and closing procedures, including shift hand-offs and cash handling.
  • Acts as shift supervisor, ensuring team members follow service and food safety protocols.
  • Provides on-the-floor support by taking orders, preparing food, and assisting customers.
  • Trains new team members and provides coaching under the direction of the Restaurant Manager.
  • Helps with inventory, restocking, and cleanliness of the restaurant.
  • Reports operational issues or employee performance concerns to the GM and AGM
  • Ensures a safe and welcoming environment for customers and team members.
  • Works collaboratively with team members to meet performance and sales goals.
  • Performs tasks as assigned by the GM and AGM, including back-of-house and front-of-house work.
    Requirements:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

To perform the duties and requirements for this job, you must have the following physical abilities:

  • Sit and stand for extended periods of time, walk up and down stairs
  • Enter data into a computer terminal, operate standard office equipment, and use telephone
  • See and read a computer screen and printed matter with or without vision aids
  • Hear and understand speech at normal levels and on the telephone
  • Speak so that others may understand at normal levels and on the telephone
  • Constant: sitting, standing and repetitive use of hands, arms, and legs
  • Frequent: typing, use of mouse, bending of neck, climbing stairs
  • Occasional: twisting of neck

You must have the ability to lift up to 25 pounds, bend, stoop, and reach; lift and carry equipment and supplies; walking daily up and down the stairs and sitting for periods up to 4 hours and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with or without reasonable accommodations.
