JOB SUMMARY

Assist with the clean-up and construction of homes and businesses following an emergency. Main duties include removal of drywall, flooring, asbestos containing materials, extraction of water, movement and storage of furniture and contents.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Previous restorations experience an asset but not necessary.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Bondable, criminal background check
  • Able to work on a on call schedule
  • Ability to work in a team environment.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Biohazard & Restoration Technicians: 1 year (preferred)
  • Restoration: 1 year (preferred)

Responsibilities
  • Follow instructions provided from the site supervisor.
  • Adhere to all health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Comply with federal and provincial laws regulating waste disposal methods.
  • Deliver, load, and unload materials. Move materials at worksites.
  • Prepare worksite by laying floor protection and sealing off work areas.
  • Remove flooring, drywall and other building materials
  • Work through a project in compliance to all hazardous materials handling guidelines & prescribed safety procedures
  • Assist in the complete installation of containment and decontamination chambers for moderate and high-risk work activities.
  • Remove asbestos containing materials/ mould impacted areas from ceilings, walls, floors, beams, boilers, and other structures using appropriate hand and power tools.
  • Remove debris from worksite, clean worksite post construction.
  • Move, pack, inventory homeowner’s furniture and contents.
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools.
  • Ensure work is completed to a high-quality standard.
