POSITION SUMMARY
The purpose of this position is to support the restorative nursing department and implement facility wide mandates for restorative care. A restorative nurse’s aide is a certified nursing assistant with the primary duty to carry through with restorative programs specifically designed by a therapist. A restorative nurse’s aide helps resident’s gain an improved quality of life by increasing and/or maintaining their level of strength and mobility.
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION AND BACKGROUND SCREENING REQUIREMENTS
Must possess, as a minimum, a High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Must possess and maintain a clear and active CNA certification.
Must possess and maintain an Eligible/Clear Background Screening.
EXPERIENCE
None. On-the-job training provided.
SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
Must possess the ability to make independent decisions, follow instructions, and accept constructive criticism.
Must be willing to work harmoniously with other personal as well as be willing to handle residents based on whatever maturity level at which they are currently functioning
Must be able to follow written and oral instructions
Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace

Use the wristband or photo in the electronic record to identify residents before administering treatments, serving meals, etc., as necessary.
Follow all facility policy and procedures.
Record all entries on flow sheets, notes, charts, electronic medical record etc., in an informative and descriptive manner.
Use only authorized abbreviations established by this facility when recording information.
Report all changes in the resident’s condition to the Nurse Supervisor/Unit Manager or Charge Nurse as soon as practical.
Report all accidents and incidents observed on the shift immediately.
Assist residents in preparing for activity and social programs (i.e., church services, patties, visitors, etc.).
Assist in transporting residents to/from appointments, activity and social programs, etc., as necessary.
Assist with lifting, turning, moving, positioning, and transporting residents into and out of beds, chairs, bathtubs, wheelchairs, lifts, etc.
Assist residents to walk with or without self-help devices as instructed.
Change dressings, bandages, binders, etc., as instructed.
Assist with the application of non-sterile (moist and dry) warm/cold compresses
Perform any other CNA duties as necessary or assigned
All other duties as assigned, directed or necessary
