Lexington Habitat ReStore is a home improvement store and donation center that sells new and used furniture, appliances, building materials, home goods and more to the public. Every purchase and donation at the ReStore supports the mission of Lexington Habitat for Humanity to build homes, communities, and hope. Our ReStore Associates support this mission by providing retail customer service and assisting with the receiving and processing of donated items.       Requirements:   * Commitment to Habitat’s mission and ability to demonstrate LHFH’s values and foundational principles.   * Ability to relate to people with diverse backgrounds.  * Ability to provide friendly and courteous customer service.  * Ability to safely lift, push, pull and move at least 50-100 pounds.  * Strong, positive communication and interpersonal skills.    * Creative self-starter with ability to work in a team environment with other team members and volunteers.    * Ability to provide direction to volunteers.  * Physical ability to complete work in the store/warehouse (concrete floor), even during inclement weather.  * Ability to reliably arrive on time to work.  * Ability to work outdoors in inclement weather.  * Availability to work Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays HOW TO APPLY:  Please submit through Lexington Habitat's employment portal at https://www.lexhabitat.org/employment    Time Requirements: Part-Time (24-26 Hours), Wednesdays 9am - 6pm, Thursdays 9am - 6pm. and Saturdays 9am - 6pm    Rate: $14.70/hour Status: Hourly, Non-Exempt Reports to: ReStore Manager  Benefits: Paid Time Off, 401K Retirement     Key Responsibilities:  All ReStore Associates have key responsibilities in all of the following areas and will be cross-trained as such. This job includes:    Customer Service:  * Greet and assist ReStore customers and provide customers with a positive shopping experience.  * Inform customers of ReStore pricing policies.   * Assist with placing donations and merchandise on the sales floor.   * Help maintain a clean and presentable ReStore.   * Perform cashier duties (and complete cashier training).  * Assist customers in loading purchases.  * Support and follow all safety and security policies and practices.   * Provide training and supervision to volunteers regarding sales floor functions as needed.  * Complete customer service training program.  Warehouse/Donation Processing/Merchandising:  * Move, process and prepare donations for placement on sales floor.  * Greet donors and provide donors with a positive donation experience.  * Receive donations from donors, including assisting with removing donations out of donors’ vehicles.  * Move donations from warehouse to sales floor.  * Assist with keeping the warehouse clean and organized.  * Price donated items in accordance with pricing guidelines.  * Provide training and supervision to volunteers regarding warehouse functions as needed.  * Complete warehouse training program.   General Expectations * Adhere to all safety protocols and communicate safety concerns to team members, donors, customers, and volunteers.  * Communicate with team members in a positive, constructive manner.  * Demonstrate the willingness and flexibility to work in any area (showroom, warehouse, trucks) as needed.   * Demonstrate and reinforce a supportive, people-first environment  * Actively communicate with management to address challenges.   * Fully engage with all training opportunities.  * Other duties as assigned.   * Reflect Lexington Habitat’s values of hope, community, empowerment, compassion, and service in decision-making and personal interactions with shoppers, donors, volunteers, and colleagues.      Pre-Employment Screenings: Prior to being hired, applicants are required to pass a pre-employment physical which includes a drug/alcohol screening, a criminal background check, and a review of the candidate’s driving history (if applicable).    In accordance with the American Disabilities Act: This position requires the ability to process and move large donations in a warehouse environment and retail floor space.  This position requires the ability to traverse a warehouse and sales floor, moving donations and assisting customers. The normal work places are a sales floor and a warehouse space which includes an outdoors dock and receiving area. Work may be in non temperature  controlled  conditions and outdoors.
