Description About: The Greater Des Moines Habitat for Humanity ReStore is a vital part of the Habitat for Humanity mission. ReStores are nonprofit home improvement stores and donation centers that sell new and gently used furniture, appliances, home goods, building materials, and more at a fraction of the retail price. The funds generated through ReStore sales directly support Habitat for Humanity's affordable housing programs, helping to build homes and transform lives. Position Overview: The Donor Relations Manager leads the donations department, focusing on providing an exceptional experience for our donors while driving the growth of donations for our stores. This role is responsible for strengthening and expanding our base of commercial donors, including retailers, manufacturers, wholesalers, builders, and contractors, to secure significant donations of sellable products that support our stores. The position involves maintaining and building upon existing relationships, as well as actively prospecting for new donors. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a strategic mindset, and a passion for fostering meaningful connections that enhance donor engagement and support our mission. Key Responsibilities: Drive donation growth to meet or exceed store sales goals. Contribute on ReStore Leadership team to the development of team and individual goals for the store. Lead and manage the Donations team to ensure efficient handling of incoming donations, aligning efforts with sales objectives. Build and nurture positive relationships with donors, volunteers, customers, and community organizations. Identify and cultivate new gift-in-kind donors, expanding opportunities for large and strategic donations. Leverage existing relationships and team efforts to grow corporate donations, targeting needed, wanted, and acceptable materials and services. Develop and implement donor outreach strategies, tailoring approaches to different types of donors. Utilize CRM software to manage donor interactions, ensuring timely follow-up, recognition, and appreciation. Track all donor communications and interactions through the CRM system for accurate record-keeping and follow-up. Coordinate large donation pickups with donors, ensuring accurate and efficient logistics. Collaborate with the procurement manager and store managers to identify donation opportunities that align with store needs. Communicate key information about large or unique donations to store managers, ambassadors, and relevant stakeholders. Support ReStore donation drives, marketing events, and projects as needed to promote donations. Regularly represent the organization at events, delivering presentations to grow the donor base. Requirements Qualifications: Excellent communication skills Experience with CRM software preferred Experience in Fund Development, research of prospects, solicitation of gifts and post follow up Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite required Occasional early morning, evening, and weekend availability required Great track record of providing excellent customer service Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision Knowledge of building materials and residential construction processes are helpful but not required Valid driver’s license and reimbursed use of personal vehicle for donor visits Demonstrate commitment to Greater Des Moines Habitat for Humanity’s Mission and Values of: Build SolutionsBuild a Safety MindsetBuild Faith and CompassionBuild as StewardsBuild with Heart
