Are you ready to be the welcoming face of Habitat for Humanity’s ReStore in Woodstock, Ontario? We’re seeking a dedicated individual to fill the vital role of ReStore Sales Associate & Driver, where you’ll play an important part in our mission to provide affordable homeownership for hard-working families.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS:

Drivers must be eligible to be added to Habitat vehicle insurance - this requires at least 5 years of driving experience and a favourable driving record.

  • Demonstrated professionalism and excellence in customer service.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time, to move and handle boxes of merchandise, furniture and fixtures over varied terrain including stairs and through doorways.
  • Competency in assessing the condition of donated goods.
  • Proven success at maximizing profitability and meeting sales targets.
  • Passion for social impact with the drive to make a positive difference in the community and advance Habitat for Humanity’s mission.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and operate a forklift.
  • Availability to work Saturdays as scheduled.
  • Forklift Operator license or willingness to become certified.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Minimum 25 years of age (for insurance purposes).

Responsibilities
  • Create positive, professional interactions with customers and donors, in person and over the phone.
  • Assist customers in making purchasing decisions.
  • Upsell products to increase sales.
  • Maintain cleanliness, functionality, and presentation of the store to high standards.
  • Ensure products are displayed and merchandised effectively for maximum exposure and sales.
  • Process transactions efficiently and accurately using our point-of-sale system.
  • Uphold donor experience guidelines with tact and professionalism.
  • Safely operate our ReStore donation trucks with professionalism and courtesy.
  • Keep our trucks in top-notch condition through regular cleaning and maintenance checks.
  • Ensure the safety of our vehicles with daily inspections.
  • Skillfully load and unload donations, handling items with care.
  • Maintain accurate records of donations for reporting purposes.
  • Comply with policies and procedures to ensure safety, integrity, and ethical standards.
