The Green Mountain Habitat for Humanity (GMHFH) ReStore is seeking a Truck and Warehouse Associate to support our mission of helping local families build strength, stability, and self-reliance through affordable homeownership. Department: ReStore and on the donations truck, in-person FLSA Status: Part Time Hourly, Non-Exempt Schedule: Part time, according to store needs Reports To: Procurement Manager Supervises: none Summary: The Truck and Warehouse Associate helps the Truck Driver with picking up and delivering donations of household merchandise such as furniture, appliances, and cupboards. This requires following safe practices for handling donations and the ability to effectively communicate with donors and express the mission of GMHFH. When not on the truck, the Truck Associate will assist in the warehouse organizing merchandise and loading purchased goods. Primary Responsibilities: Safely transport and load donations from donors’ property into the ReStore truck. Follow best practices for loading donations into the truck to ensure that they don’t shift during transport. Follow directions from the Truck Driver with regards to donation pickups or additional tasks. Greet customers and assess the condition of donations that are scheduled to be picked up. Approve or deny donations based on if they are in good, sellable condition. Impart GMHFH’s mission on donors and provide proper documentation for their donations. Strictly follow set procedures relating to safe vehicle operation or accident reporting. Assist in keeping trucks well maintained and clean. Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Secondary Responsibilities: Attend community and GMHFH events and assist with set up. Once pickups are completed, assist with warehouse operations, including pricing donations received or moving product. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements Desired Education and Experience: Experience handling heavy goods and loading goods for transport preferred. High school diploma preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and Experience: Able to communicate well with staff and donors. Dependable and able to stick to a schedule. Excellent customer service skills to respond to any questions or concerns. Flexibility to switch to different tasks quickly. Collaborate with and assist the Truck Driver with planning and executing pickups. Able to focus on and complete loading of the truck for the entire shift. Compensation & Benefits: The pay range for this full-time, in-person position is currently $18 hourly and the position includes a 20% discount to Green Mountain Habitat for Humanity ReStores.
