JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking a reliable and friendly Retail Assistant to join our team in the Fruit & Veg department of our busy food store. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for quality, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to delivering excellent customer service. You will play a key role in maintaining a well-presented, fresh, and fully stocked produce section while assisting customers with product queries and purchases.

• Ensure all fruit and vegetable displays are clean, tidy, and attractively presented.
• Stock and rotate fresh produce, removing items that are out of date or damaged.
• Monitor produce quality throughout the day and ensure best-before dates are managed.
• Assist customers with product information, selection, and general inquiries.
• Receive, unpack, and inspect deliveries to ensure quality and accuracy.
• Price and label produce accurately in line with store pricing systems.
• Follow all health, safety, and food hygiene regulations.
• Minimise waste through appropriate stock rotation and handling.
• Clean work areas, tools, and equipment regularly.
• Collaborate with other team members to ensure the department runs smoothly.
