Assistant Store Manager Reports To: Store Manager ---------------------------------------- Job Summary The Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in overseeing daily operations, ensuring an excellent customer experience, driving sales, and fostering a positive and productive work environment. This role helps lead, coach, and develop team members while upholding company values of being positive towards people and pets, eager to learn, team-oriented, and accountable. ---------------------------------------- Essential Duties & Responsibilities * Assist in supervising and directing staff to meet sales, service, and operational goals. * Provide coaching, training, and feedback to employees to support growth and performance. * Ensure high standards of customer service and resolve escalated customer concerns. * Help manage inventory, merchandising, and product displays to maximize sales opportunities. * Monitor loss prevention practices and maintain store safety and security standards. * Support scheduling, timekeeping, and daily task assignments to ensure smooth operations. * Act as manager-on-duty in the absence of the Store Manager, making key decisions as needed. * Contribute to a positive workplace culture that encourages teamwork and accountability. * Assist with retention of employees. * Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and operational standards. ---------------------------------------- Qualifications * Previous retail or supervisory experience required; assistant manager experience preferred. * Strong leadership and team development skills. * Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities. * Customer-focused with a passion for delivering exceptional service. * Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. * Proficiency in POS systems, scheduling tools, and basic Microsoft Office applications. * Ability to stand for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs. ---------------------------------------- Work Environment This position requires a hands-on presence in the store, frequent interaction with customers and employees.  Evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
