Key responsibilities

• Discuss client preferences, face shapes, hair types, and lifestyle needs before recommending styles or treatments for hair care and styles
• Shampoo and condition hair and apply specialized scalp treatments
• Cut, trim, and texture hair using scissors, razors, and clippers
• Color, bleach, tone, straighten, or permanently wave hair using professional formulas
• Blow-dry, curl, straighten, braid, or create up-dos for everyday wear or special events
• Fit, clean, cut, and style wigs, hairpieces, or hair extensions
• Trim and shape beards and moustaches
• Keep on top of current hair cutting and styling trends
• Help maintain adequate inventory of hair products and tools
• Sterilize tools, sanitize chairs and workstations, sweep floors, and restock supplies. Maintain cleanliness of salon
• Book appointments, ensure clients with scheduled appointments receive service in a timely manner, process payments, and recommend retail hair care products

About you

• At least 1 year of experience working in the field
• A Hairdressing qualification is highly regarded
• Excellent hair salon skills
• Time management and teamwork skills
• Ability to work under pressure
