The Whisky Shop is the largest specialist retailer on the UK high street with 23 branches located from Inverness in the Scottish Highlands to London and Exeter in the south of England.
We are looking for a dedicated and hard working part time member of staff for our Exeter store working the weekends. This position would be suitable for a student and we would be keen that our selected candidate could potentially work more days if required, so some level of flexibility would be beneficial.
Our stores attract many types of whisky fans, from collectors and connoisseurs to those wanting to discover new brands and of course gift buyers and we pride ourselves on quality customer service to match the quality of the products we have to offer our clientele.
We are looking for someone with good experience in retail or indeed experience with whisky already or similar fields such as wines and spirits.
Our chosen new recruit will have a dedication, first and foremost to customer service and to the the quality of retail required for such an important store. They will be tasked with carrying out many roles including merchandising, brand knowledge, general cleanliness of the store, staff development, stock control, communication with our Head Office team and some minor administration.
We have our own Whisky Club and host tasting events for our club members. Confidence in speaking to larger groups about whisky would be a skill we would be keen to develop with all our staff.
Furthermore we offer a mail order service, click and collect service and an on-line whisky auction which our store staff need to be involved with.
Our preferred candidate will possess a dedication and commitment to the role, a willingness to learn and take direction, be flexible enough to ensure the store will always operate as it should, have a personality and manner to ensure a good working team of staff and happy customers and ultimately have the enthusiasm for the shop, sales and our products.
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Pay: £12.21 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 12 per week
