Retail Cashier Reports to: Retail Supervisor Category: Seasonal (April - October in Hoonah, Alaska) Salary Range: $18-20 DOE, plus bonus potential Summary: A Retail Associate is responsible for maintaining Guest Service as per company standards, generating sales, housekeeping, re-stocking, signing, pricing, cash register operations (POS) and loss prevention in adherence to all Company Policy/Store standards. *UPDATE: Locals to Hoonah, AK only apply. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Ensure that each Guest receives outstanding Guest Service by providing a Guest friendly environment which includes greeting and acknowledging every Guest, maintaining outstanding standards, solid product knowledge and all other components of Guest Service. * Maintain an awareness of all product knowledge information, merchandise promotions, and advertisements. * Assist in floor moves, merchandising, display maintenance and store housekeeping. * Assist in processing and replenishing merchandise; participate in receiving and monitoring floor stock. * Adhere to all Company policies, procedures and practices including signing, pricing, and loss prevention. * Accurately and efficiently complete all sales transactions and maintain proper cash and media accountabilities at POS registers. * Communicate Guest requests to management. * Any other duties as assigned by management. Physical Requirements & Work Environment: * Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat. * Prolonged periods of standing, with climbing stairs multiple times a day. * Must be able to lift 40 pounds at times. * Ability to communicate in English to our associates and guests. * Ability to read, write and count to accurately complete all documentation. * Must be able to work safely in a noisy area with many odors present. * Ability to work in an unheated building. * Willing to live in a remote, rural community * Comfortable traveling by small plane or ferry to and from a remote setting * Able to walk and/or drive on gravel roads in inclement weather * In Season, the hours can be extended.
