Description Position Summary: The Retail Attendant is responsible for providing outstanding guest service while assisting with daily operations of the resort’s retail outlets. This includes greeting guests, processing sales, restocking merchandise, maintaining store appearance, and ensuring an exceptional shopping experience. The ideal candidate is friendly, reliable, and professional, with a strong focus on customer service and attention to detail. Key Responsibilities: Guest Service and Sales: Greet all guests warmly and assist them in finding merchandise or answering product questions. Provide knowledgeable recommendations and promote sales of souvenirs, apparel, and resort merchandise. Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system accurately to complete transactions, handle payments, and issue receipts. Assist guests with exchanges, refunds, and special requests in accordance with resort policies. Maintain a positive and professional demeanor at all times to ensure an exceptional guest experience. Cash Handling and Transactions: Handle all cash, credit, and gift card transactions accurately and responsibly. Balance cash drawers at the beginning and end of each shift, ensuring accuracy in reporting. Follow all financial policies, including safeguarding of funds and proper documentation of transactions. Report any discrepancies or errors to management immediately Store Presentation and Merchandising: Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing retail environment. Restock shelves, displays, and storage areas to ensure products are always available and attractively presented. Assist with merchandise rotation, labeling, and inventory checks as directed by management. Support visual merchandising initiatives to highlight promotional or seasonal items. Inventory and Stock Management: Monitor inventory levels and communicate low-stock or out-of-stock items to supervisors Assist in receiving, unpacking, and organizing merchandise shipments Participate in periodic inventory counts and help maintain accurate records. Ensure all products are properly tagged, priced, and displayed according to resort standards. Safety and Compliance: Follow all resort safety policies and loss prevention procedures. Maintain a clean and hazard-free environment for guests and staff. Report any safety concerns, damaged merchandise, or maintenance needs promptly. Ensure compliance with all local, state, and company regulations regarding retail operations. Communication and Teamwork: Work cooperatively with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth store operations. Communicate guest feedback, inventory needs, and operational challenges to management. Attend team meetings and participate in ongoing training and development sessions. Support other departments as needed during special events or peak business period Requirements Qualifications: Education: High school diploma or equivalent (required). Additional coursework in business, hospitality, or retail management (preferred). Experience: Previous experience in retail, customer service, or cashiering (preferred). Experience in a resort, amusement park, or hospitality environment is a plus. Skills: Excellent customer service and communication skills. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling transactions. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Positive attitude and professional appearance. Basic computer and POS system proficiency. Certifications: CPR and First Aid certification (preferred). POS or cash-handling training will be provided. Physical Requirements: Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift. Ability to lift or carry up to 50 pounds occasionally. Frequent bending, reaching, and stocking of merchandise. Comfortable working in indoor retail environments, occasionally with outdoor exposure. Work Environment: Work performed primarily indoors in a retail or gift shop setting. May include exposure to varying temperatures when restocking or assisting in outdoor resort areas. Must be available to work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings, and holidays. Compensation: Competitive hourly pay.
