The Retail Business Analyst plays a key role in improving the performance of our retail customers by analyzing data, processes, and systems to identify opportunities for optimization. This role bridges the gap between business needs and solutions, ensuring that initiatives align with strategic objectives and drive efficiency, productivity, and profitability.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience working with retailers such as Suncor, Home Depot, or Wal-Mart is an asset.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in analytical tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, etc.) and data management systems.

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Strategic Collaboration: Partner with Account Managers to support account strategies, drive sales volume, and enhance category value.
  • Innovation Leadership: Leverage our strong brand portfolio to lead innovation discussions both internally and externally.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze sales data (POS), customer behavior, market trends, and inventory levels to uncover insights and improvement opportunities.
  • Requirements Gathering: Work with internal and external stakeholders to gather and document business requirements and translate them into actionable strategies.
  • Project Management: Assist in planning, executing, and monitoring projects to ensure alignment with business goals.
  • Reporting & Visualization: Develop dashboards, reports, and visualizations to communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with Finance, Category Management, Marketing, and IT teams to implement solutions and drive growth.
  • Strategic Planning Support: Analyze market trends, competitive landscapes, and consumer behavior to support long-term planning.
  • Forecasting & Planning: Create sales forecasts, inventory plans, and other projections to optimize operations and support customer growth.

SPECIFIC TASKS MAY INCLUDE:

  • Conducting quantitative and qualitative analyses of customer behavior and retail trends.
  • Developing and applying analytical models to interpret retail data.
  • Monitoring and reporting on sales, inventory, productivity, and other key metrics.
  • Supporting sales and marketing teams with data-driven insights.
  • Managing and maintaining pricing and promotional data.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant policies and regulations.
