REQUIREMENTS

  • Certificate in butchery and or 2+ years of experience in a butcher shop with retail sales and marketing skills
  • Willingness to learn POS and inventory systems
  • Capable of taking direction and can remain calm and courteous in high pressure situations.
  • Experience in a commercial kitchen; being familiar with smokers and slicers
  • Great attention to detail, organization and cleanliness
  • Meet the physical requirements of the job; lifting 30-50 lbs and standing for periods of time.
  • Strong work ethic, co-operative, takes direction well, and enjoys interaction with customers face-to-face
  • Strong ability to communicate effectively
  • Ability to Read, Write, understand and speak English
    The position needs to be filled quickly from a local resident of the Calgary and area.
Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Retail beef and pork cutting from boxed sub-primal and occasionally whole animal
  • Sausage making, grinding meats and making value added production (beef jerky, pepperoni)
  • Ensure display coolers are organized, and filled for appropriate volume of sales that meets or exceeds company expectations.
  • Assist in sales and marketing of Brant Lake Wagyu Beef
  • Contribute to a safe and clean workplace.

TASKS

  • High level of butchery skills to cut, grind and package premium wagyu beef and pork to include whole carcass breakdown.
  • Completing meat orders
  • Production of sausage and other value added beef products.
  • Routine cleaning of the cutting room, retail area and equipment
  • Retail sales of packaged beef, pork, value added items and dry goods
  • Operate Clover POS and cash register
