Position Summary The Retail Clerk is responsible for providing excellent customer service while supporting daily retail store operations. This role involves assisting customers with seafood product selection, ensuring proper product display and freshness, and preparing and packaging orders accurately. The Retail Clerk must maintain high standards of food safety, sanitation, and product quality in accordance with company policies and food safety regulations. This position also supports sales goals by delivering knowledgeable service, maintaining a clean and organized store environment, and contributing to overall team operations in a fast-paced retail setting. Key Responsibilities Greet and assist customers in a friendly, professional, and knowledgeable manner, providing accurate information about seafood products, including preparation, storage, and handling Display, rotate, and replenish seafood products to maintain freshness, quality, availability, and visual appeal while following FIFO inventory practices Prepare, package, label, and pack customer orders accurately and efficiently, including orders for local delivery Operate the POS system and process cash and card transactions accurately Assist with receiving, labeling, proper storage, and overall stock management activities Perform routine cleaning and sanitation duties while maintaining food safety, hygiene, and health and safety standards Work collaboratively with team members, supervisors, and management to support daily retail operations and customer service goals Perform other related duties as assigned by the Retail Supervisor Core Competencies Strong customer service and communication skills Knowledge of seafood products or willingness to learn Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced retail environment Dependability, punctuality, and professional conduct Working Conditions & Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods Frequent bending, crouching, and lifting up to 50 lbs Exposure to cold storage and wet environments while handling seafood products, including potential allergens Willingness to be trained in the proper handling and cutting of seafood Flexibility to work variable shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays What We Offer Commission program on personal sales Supportive and friendly work environment Employee discount on products On-the-job training and skill development Compliance Statement Fisherman’s Market International Inc. is committed to maintaining a safe, respectful, and inclusive workplace.
