Description Full time/ Non-Exempt/Tuesday-Saturday incorporating occasional evenings and weekends as needed. The Museum is an EOE. As the Retail Coordinator for the Nevada Museum of Art, this position oversees the day-to-day functions of the Museum’s shop and retail spaces by ensuring a unique and friendly shopping experience for patrons. From assisting with visual merchandising and customer service to inventory management and volunteer training, the Retail Coordinator ensures that the Museum's retail offerings not only contribute to the organization’s revenue goals but also reflect its unique identity and exhibits. This position reports to the Director of Retail Operations. TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES Stay informed about the Museum’s products, vendors, and how they relate to the exhibitions and overall mission. Support the setup, maintenance, and merchandising of products and displays. Keep up to date with Altru and its point-of-sale (POS) system functions, handling basic sales for memberships, merchandise, tickets, and admissions. Address guest concerns and complaints, acting as an advocate for both the visitors and the Museum. Demonstrate a solid understanding of the artwork in the Museum’s galleries and the institution’s mission and brand. Stay informed about ongoing and upcoming Museum events and programs. Support a diverse team of volunteers and Visitor Services Officers in understanding and adhering to best practices. Serve as a liaison between volunteers and staff, facilitating communication about ongoing promotions, products, challenges, and successes. Participate in annual inventory processes as needed. Adhere to the Museum safety and security protocols as trained. Assist with other tasks and responsibilities as assigned. Requirements Customer service, sales or prior leadership experience preferred. Must have strong time management and critical thinking skills. Ability to provide the highest level of customer service and leadership at all times, while actively listening and engaging with guests and staff in a positive and professional manner. Ability to exercise good judgment and problem solving. Ability to stand for long periods of time on hard surfaces is required. The ability to lift 25 pounds is required. Preferred software experience includes Word, Outlook, Excel, database (operation and data entry) and varied POS systems.
