POSITION SUMMARY & HIGHLIGHTS:

The Retail Coordinator monitors and mentors the personnel responsible for storing, preparing, serving and sanitizing food for patients, catered functions, staff and visitors in various areas of the Food and Nutrition Services Department of Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center.

WORK SCHEDULE:

We are seeking a PRN per diem employee who is available for work on an as-needed basis. This flexible schedule gives you the ability to diversify your working experience and skills.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Three (3) years of experience in a healthcare foodservice setting with one (1) year in a lead / supervisory role required.
  • Successfully pass the Coordinator Nutrition test with a score of 80% or higher within six months of hire.
  • Experience in CBORD, Computrition or other similar diet management software.
  • Experience with modified diets/diet therapy in a healthcare setting.

  • Supervises the training, orienting and mentoring of new employees.
  • Responsible for assigning work and providing daily direction to staff.
  • Assists in coaching colleagues and provides performance feedback to manager.
  • Participates in the annual staff review/competency assessment process. Assists in scheduling shift assignments.
  • Performs required edits to CBORD database and protocols.
  • Oversees and ensures that proper food preparation and food storage practices are being followed according to acceptable standards and practices.
  • Involved in QA/PI auditing and tracking as assigned.
  • Conducts rounding on patients per assigned number per week.
  • Conducts service recovery activities as needed.
  • Assists with inventory and ordering as trained and directed.
  • Responsible for the completion of tasks assigned to employees in direct area or shift of responsibility
