Description

Bankwest has a rich heritage. We’re proud to be part of the fabric of Western Australia with a strong culture built on local support. We’ve always been innovative, evolving over time to look after a growing regional market and seeking out new customers. With the support of a strong partner in CBA, we share a belief in the value of our brand, our potential for growth and a big aspirational Vision.
The Retail Credit Team is a Retail Lending Operations utility function supporting Bankwest. Credit underwriters are responsible for the assessment and decisioning of all Retail lending products and retail home loan maintenance requests.
Do work that matters: The team is committed in its delivery of timely, efficient service with focus on our customers to ensure their needs are met and exceeded, whilst acting within the Risk Management framework of the Group. This will be achieved by adherence to internal strategies, risk policies and procedures, support and active commitment to the credit training / up-skilling and on-going personal development, including active participation in cultivating positive behaviours and supportive language.

Responsibilities
  • Full understanding of and superior ability to discuss a wide array of retail lending policies and processes across all Retail products and scenarios.
  • Ability to think laterally and apply a fair, balanced assessment to each decision within your personal authority.
  • Superior effectiveness in delivering credit assessments and issuance of advice in a manner that educates and influences our whole lending culture.
  • Proactive identification of and participation in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in ongoing training and accreditation activities to maintain status as a subject matter expert in lending.
  • Report all operational risk events, compliance and occupational health and safety breaches or potential events and breaches.
