We are looking for a visionary leader to build and scale this new national channel.

JOB SUMMARY

Are you a strategic retail leader ready to build a multi-million dollar revenue channel from the ground up? As the Director of Retail, you will have full P&L ownership and the strategic autonomy to create, launch, and scale Puffy’s presence in physical retail stores across the nation. Reporting directly to our CEO, you will be a key member of the executive team, responsible for forging major retail partnerships and establishing Puffy as a dominant brand in the offline market.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 8+ years of progressive experience in building and managing retail sales channels.
  • Demonstrated success in scaling a channel to generate multi-million dollar revenue.
  • Proven track record of managing large, strategic retail accounts and exceeding sales quotas.
  • Experience leading B2B sales functions, including managing broker and/or distributor networks.
  • A performance-driven mindset with strong experience in sales forecasting, budget management, and full P&L accountability.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to confidently engage C-suite executives, retail buyers, and internal teams.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in the consumer goods, home goods, or mattress industry.
  • Experience successfully scaling a direct-to-consumer (D2C) brand into a brick-and-mortar retail environment.
  • Advanced knowledge of retail merchandising and promotional strategies.
Responsibilities
  • Strategic Channel Development: Develop and execute the strategic roadmap for the entire retail channel, taking full ownership of the P&L, budget, and revenue growth targets.
  • Retail Partner Acquisition & Management: Identify, recruit, and onboard new retail partners. Build and nurture strong, collaborative relationships to drive sales performance and maximize market share.
  • Major Account Leadership: Own and manage strategic relationships with key national retailers. Negotiate favorable terms, plan promotional calendars, and ensure sales velocity targets are consistently met or exceeded.
  • Operational Scaling: Design and implement scalable systems and processes for inventory management, sales operations, and partner support to facilitate rapid expansion.
  • In-Store Marketing Execution: Collaborate with the marketing team to design and deploy effective in-store promotions, merchandising displays, and campaigns that drive foot traffic and conversion.
  • Forecasting & Reporting: Implement a robust system for sales forecasting, pipeline management, and performance reporting. Deliver clear and insightful updates to senior leadership.
  • Market Intelligence: Continuously analyze market trends, competitor activity, and consumer behavior to identify and capitalize on new growth opportunities.
