We’re looking for a District Manager who can inspire teams, ensure an amazing guest experience, and help stores operate at their very best. This is a hands-on, high-visibility role overseeing 9-10 store locations, with a strong presence in stores each week. What You’ll Do: Make Stores Successful & Fun Store Financial Goals + Training Support You’ll be a visible leader—frequently in stores, working directly with teams. Motivate teams to hit sales goals and deliver top-tier guest delight Spend the majority of time in stores with managers and teams Ensure training is consistent, timely, and effective Partner with Store Managers to identify opportunities and create action plans Coordinate with Store Managers & Training Director on additional training needs Build strong relationships with guests and staff while upholding Tomlinson’s culture and values Store Operations & Brand Standards Help each location shine—organized, clean, inviting, and stocked. Ensure all store locations meet Tomlinson’s brand standards Support merchandising initiatives and inventory transitions Participate in store inspections and ensure accountability for completing action items Confirm stores have needed equipment (cleaning supplies, freezers, IT needs, etc.) Verify compliance with promotions, markdowns, store transfers, and cycle counts Staff Development & Leadership Build strong teams who love what they do. Build and maintain a team of dedicated, guest-focused team members Motivate teams through recognition, coaching, and consistent communication Ensure staff have strong guest delight skills and product knowledge Train teams on policies, procedures, and operational standards—and enforce them consistently Coach and develop Store Managers to reach peak performance Identify internal talent—Tomlinson’s loves to promote from within Lead with integrity, professionalism, and positivity Company Communication Be the bridge between stores and Headquarters. Communicate store needs, wins, and opportunities to the General Manager and Headquarters Ensure store teams are up-to-date on all Headquarters communications Attend weekly Headquarters meetings Industry Expertise Stay curious. Stay excited. Stay pet-obsessed. Stay current on pet industry trends, products, and guest preferences Recommend new products to the Merchandising Manager that align with the company brand and values Requirements What You Bring At least 3 years of multi-unit retail management experience, OR 5+ years as a single-unit Store Manager with a proven track record A passion for pets and customer service Strong leadership, coaching, and communication skills A proactive mindset and ability to problem-solve in real time Love for people, teamwork, and helping others grow Willingness to travel daily between store locations Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds on a regular basis
