Are you well versed in retail fixture installation and a multi-talented individual? Are you highly accurate and detail oriented with safety top of mind? We are hiring experienced installers for an upcoming contract job in Vancouver, BC.
The project start date is August 11, 2025 with an end date of October 10, 2025. This is a day shift starting at 7:30 am. Shifts will be 8 hours.
Experience
- 2+ years experience in millwork and store fixture installation in a big box, specialty or small format retail operations
- Ability to read and understand plan-o-grams, blueprints, schematics, construction documents or equivalent
- Assembling, constructing and fitting pre-manufactured fixtures and warehouse racking
- Installing in-store signage and graphics
- Basic carpentry skills and experience with hand and power tools
Time Management and Communication
- Proven ability to work on project based deadlines
- Ability to readily adapt to project scope as needed, you’re ok if things don’t necessarily go as planned
- Able to work both independently and in large team environments
- You are super-reliable. When you say you’ll be somewhere or do something - you do it
- Excellent interpersonal skills, effectively communicate on site with team members and clients working in a professional/respectful manner in both a closed and operating store environment
- Coordination and problem solving skills - Set priorities and exercise flexibility where necessary
Role
- Following instructions from the Team Lead, build, move or reconfiguring store fixtures including, gondola, warehouse racking, shelving and display systems
- Accurate installation involving the set-up of fixtures including but not limited to; steel, shelving, case millwork, store displays and/or signage
- Work with both the merchandising team as well as the fixture installation team to ensure store fixtures including, but not limited to shelving and racking elevations are set to planogram
- Manage tools and material inventory for each project. Ensure unused materials are accounted for and all company tools returned at the end of the project. Managing company assets and materials is critical
- Unloading and receiving deliveries specifically related to project requirements
- Packing and labeling parts and materials as required for project scope
- Assist with store decommissions including removal and disposal of store fixtures as directed by client
- Working as a team and following direction to execute all parts of the project as required
- Ensure daily goals are achieved and communicating when there are issues that need to be resolved
- Follow established timelines for project
- Understands specific project related client expectations and goals regarding execution, quality, and timelines
- Manage and organize time in order to meet tight deadlines. Where potential conflicts or timeline issues may arise , provide early warning and update Site Supervisor as appropriate, suggest methods for resolution
- Actively execute any additional tasks as requested/required, including administrative ones as required
- Cleaning, sweeping, mopping, removal of garbage and debris to ensure work area/job site is prepared for new set-up, store operations and safe work area
- Comply with the company’s H&S Program, ensure policies and procedures are being adhered to
Additional Requirements
- Able to work a variety of shifts including days or nights as required
- Flexible schedule required as we work around our clients schedules.
- Health & Safety focused
- Flexibility and willingness to travel as out of town, travel is required (travel expenses at company’s expense)
- Valid driver’s license, own vehicle
- Must have steel toe work boots, safety knife, work gloves and a measuring tape
- Ability to Lift up to 60lbs
- Able to stand / walk/ bend / lift for the duration of the shift
- Able to climb ladders
- Own a basic tool set and can work hand and power tools competently & safely
Additional Assets
- Background in construction is an asset
- Experience installing Doors and Hardware – setting and installing hollow metal door frames, doors, door stops & closers, handles and other related door hardware and accessories
- Working knowledge of common software and internet applications such as Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word
- WHMIS, Aerial, Forklift and Working at Heights Certification
- Able to use a pump truck if required
- Previous experience working in a warehouse or previous experience working in production or assembly roles
