PURPOSE OF THE ROLE: The Retail Floor Trainer primarily functions as a Retail Associate while also taking on the responsibility of training new and existing Retail Associates. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Standards and System Knowledge- Maintains a thorough understanding of the types of acceptable items, the tagging and point of sale system, pricing and production standards to maintain consistency and quality. Sale Promotion Awareness- Stays informed about weekly discount days, including identifying the “New to You” color tag and the “Clearance” color tag of the week and other store promotions or special sales. Customer Service- Interacts with customers consistently and professionally to ensure and promote a consistent positive shopping experience and to deter theft. Handles customer complaints promptly and professionally. Cash Handling- Comprehends and adheres to cash handling and management procedures. Flexibility and Responsiveness- Regularly merchandises product, replenishes stock, monitors fitting rooms, and transports merchandise to where it is needed on the sales floor. Demonstrates a high degree of flexibility and responsiveness to meet store needs Exhibits schedule flexibility to accommodate new hire training. Reports to and responds to the team’s Assistant Store Manager to ensure product is run to the retail sales floor in a timely manner. Provides assistance with “rag out,” as directed. Retail Associate Training- Leads Retail Associate training, including new hire training, re-training, and cross-training. Ensures Retail Associates are well-equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to complete their roles effectively. Clearly communicates performance expectations to associates, providing ongoing support, guidance and feedback to foster a productive and positive work environment. Safety- Immediately reports theft, injuries, near misses, unsafe equipment or conditions to management. Promotes a safe working environment by adhering to safety protocols and encouraging associates to do the same. Additional Duties or Responsibilities- Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by a member of the Store Management Team. Provides support to other departments as needed or as directed by a member of the Store Management Team. Complies with all Company established policies and standards.
