Johnson Nursery's Garden Center in Willard, NC is looking for an enthusiastic Team Supervisor / Manager to help our customers create beautiful outdoor spaces. Whether you're a seasoned plant enthusiast or just discovering your green thumb, we'd love to meet you! What You'll Do: Work in a beautiful garden center surrounded by over 2,000 varieties of premium plants, help customers find their perfect plants, care for our inventory, and be part of a team that shares expert gardening knowledge with our community. This position plays a vital role in creating exceptional customer experiences while managing daily operations in our thriving garden center. Requirements What We're Looking For: Someone who loves helping people, enjoys working with plants, isn't afraid of getting their hands dirty, and wants to be part of a team that makes gardening accessible and fun for everyone. Previous Manager experience at a retail Garden Center is a plus. Provide outstanding customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and offering plant selection guidance Assist customers with loading purchases and preparing orders for local delivery Maintain plant health through proper watering, pruning, and general plant care Keep the garden center organized, well-stocked, and visually appealing Maintain yard organization, safety excellence, and execute merchandising initiatives within the nursery Maintain up-to-date and clean displays, including product signage, labels, and tags Provide direct leadership, management, and training of retail nursery associates Perform inventory cycle counts Assist in ordering plant material Conduct yearly performance reviews and development discussions Partner with leadership and Field Support to understand the impact of emerging technologies and ways of working on business performance Must be computer proficient (capable of entering orders, receiving purchase orders, sending emails, approving time, etc.) Ready and willing to learn and adopt, and encourage others to learn and adopt, new technologies and ways of working Process sales transactions accurately using our point-of-sale system Assist with receiving and merchandising new plant arrivals Help maintain clean and safe shopping areas throughout the facility Support PlantChat consultation sessions and special events as needed Qualifications: Interest in plants, gardening, or horticulture (Management experience) Strong customer service skills with a friendly, helpful demeanor Ability to work independently and as part of a team Comfortable with physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs, standing for extended periods, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions Basic math skills for handling transactions, MS Office Suite, and POS Reliable and punctual with flexible availability, including Saturdays Willingness to learn about plant care and garden center operations Preferred Qualifications: 3-5 years of leadership, management or team-building experience Operations and inventory management experience preferred Previous retail or customer service experience Knowledge of plants, landscaping, or gardening Experience with cash handling or POS systems Experience in the landscape, nursery, or irrigation industry preferred Compensation & Benefits: Competitive Compensation Medical, Dental, and Vision plans Paid Time Off, Paid Holidays 401k with company match Paid Training and Business Certifications Available Product Discounts
