The Brass Tacks
- Manage, schedule and motivate the team to increase sales and ensure efficiency
- Analyze and interpret trends to facilitate planning while maintaining awareness of market trends in the retail industry
- Maintain store staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting and training employees on all aspects of retail store operations
- Achieves financial objectives by preparing an annual budget, scheduling expenditures, analyzing monthly P and L and analyzing variances
- Partner with Inventory and Buying Specialist to formulate pricing decisions by reviewing merchandise activities, determining additional sales promotions, authorizing clearance sales and studying trends
- Partner with Inventory and Buying Specialist to market merchandise by studying advertising, sales promotions, and display plans, analyze operating and financial statements for profitability ratios
- Collaborate with Retail Director and Inventory and Buying Specialist to create yearly buying strategy and set promotional calendar
- Ensure that retail stores are well-displayed and upholding cleanliness and maintenance expectations
- Work with Inventory and Buying Specialist & Supervisor to ensure all inventory related procedures are being followed by all team members
- Knowledge of interdepartmental transfer procedures
- Consistently works in both retail channels on the sales floor
- Consistently attends property meetings including the Inventory and Buying Specialist and Retail Director
- Participate in store monthly and quarterly inventories
- Anticipate guest constantly changing needs
- Maintain comfortable, pleasant and exciting environment for guests and team members
- Maintain warm and professional attitude at all times while demonstrating and coaching positive suggestive selling techniques
- Maintaining food equipment properly as trained and strictly following and enforcing all health code regulations
- Follow up with engineering on any maintenance issues related to retail store location
The Nitty Gritty
- 3-5 years of Retail Management and strong knowledge of retail operations
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to write contracts, reports, business correspondence, and operations manuals
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from team members, managers, clients, guests or the general public
- Strong people management skills, including coaching, motivating, delegating, scheduling and relationship-building
- Computer skills preferred
