JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Retail Officer
Department: Operations
Reporting to: Site Manager / Senior Operations Manager
As a Retail Security Officer, you play a crucial role in maintaining a safe and secure shopping environment for customers and staff. Your primary responsibilities include preventing theft, deterring criminal activities, and providing a visible security presence within the store. You will work closely with store management and law enforcement to ensure the highest standards of security and loss prevention are maintained.

EXPERIENCE:

• 
  Previous experience in retail security, loss prevention, or a similar role is desirable.
• 
  Knowledge of theft prevention strategies and relevant security procedures is beneficial.

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:

• 
  Strong observational skills with attention to detail.
• 
  Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations.
• 
  Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with staff, customers, and law enforcement.
• 
  High levels of integrity, discretion, and professionalism.
• 
  Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings and weekends.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 
  Valid Private Security Authority (PSA) license (essential).
• 
  Basic Guarding Skills - QQI Level 4.
• 
  Minimum 6 months of industry experience.
• 
  Basic IT skills.
• 
  Certification in conflict management or physical intervention (advantageous but not required).
• 
  Full EU Driving Licence (preferred but not essential).
• 
  English Level B2 (oral & written).

OCCASIONAL DUTIES:

• 
  Additionally, hours outside of the store schedule may be required at the clients request.
