As a Retail Parts Puller, you will work closely with the Sales team to assist customers with the removal and retrieval of automotive parts for retail customers in a safe, accurate, and timely manner. This role plays a key part in delivering excellent customer service by ensuring customers receive the correct parts quickly and efficiently. The Retail Parts Puller is responsible for performing day-to-day activities in the production yard or warehouse in accordance with current federal, state/provincial, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations governing the facility. The Production/Yard Leader may direct this position to ensure parts are handled in a safe, efficient, and proper manner. Essential Job Duties Customer Service & Sales Support Work directly with the Sales team to prioritize and fulfill customer part requests. Locate and retrieve automotive parts accurately and efficiently for retail customers. Communicate order updates, part availability, and delays with Sales and Dispatch teams. Provide excellent customer service through professionalism, urgency, and teamwork. Parts Pulling & Inventory Pull work orders and verify part accuracy before removal. Use hand tools and power tools to remove parts from vehicles safely. Pull and prep sheet metal, mechanical parts, and special orders for customer pickup or delivery. Package and prepare parts for delivery or customer pickup. Tag and label all parts properly for destination and inventory accuracy. Complete all required paperwork and documentation related to parts and orders. Safely maneuver throughout the yard or warehouse while locating inventory. Equipment & Safety Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including proper PPE usage. Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas. Assist with additional yard or warehouse duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities This position does not have supervisory responsibilities. Requirements Minimum Requirements Education & Experience High School Diploma or GED preferred. Previous automotive, salvage yard, or parts pulling experience preferred. Preferred Qualifications Working knowledge of automotive parts and vehicle systems. Ability to identify vehicle makes, models, and parts. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and equipment required to remove automotive parts. Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment while maintaining accuracy. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Ability to follow directions, work independently, and prioritize tasks effectively. Basic computer skills including Outlook, Word, and Excel preferred. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. Ability to complete basic paperwork and maintain simple records. Problems encountered are routine and generally solved by following established procedures and guidance. Decisions generally affect individual job performance and assigned work area. Essential Physical Demands / Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, push, pull, squat, bend, reach, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or sit for extended periods. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. On occasion, employees may be required to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Work may involve exposure to hazardous situations, extreme temperatures, loud noise levels, and moving equipment. Employees may work in cramped spaces, underneath vehicles, or in awkward positions while removing parts. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required regularly. Travel may occasionally be required based on business needs.
Responsibilities
