Position Summary As a Retail Pharmacy Technician II, you will play a vital role in supporting pharmacy operations and ensuring safe, accurate, and timely medication distribution. This includes assisting with prescription processing, inventory management, and customer service using Orlando Health’s pharmacy software and hardware systems. Responsibilities Essential Functions Understand and follow safety, emergency, and risk management procedures Demonstrate knowledge of Orlando Health’s mission, policies, and pharmacy goals Perform pharmacy technician duties including medication preparation and distribution Operate pharmacy equipment safely and accurately Assist pharmacists with medication admixture (e.g., chemotherapy) and automated dispensing cabinets Maintain compliance with USP 797 standards and regulatory documentation Ensure safe handling and proper disposal of medications Support drug procurement and buyer procedures Participate in training new pharmacy technicians as needed Maintain advanced expertise in specialized areas (e.g., medication history acquisition) Complete special projects as assigned Collaborate with other departments to support patient care and customer service Maintain punctual and regular attendance in accordance with Orlando Health policies Comply with all Orlando Health procedures and standards Qualifications Education & Training High school diploma or equivalent required Licensure/Certification Must maintain current Pharmacy Technician registration with the Florida State Board of Pharmacy National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) preferred Experience Minimum of 1 year and up to 4 years of experience as a pharmacy technician in a retail or hospital setting
