HMC Offers: * On-site quality childcare * HMC Wellness Center membership * 401(k) with employer matching contributions POSITION SUMMARY The Retail Pharmacy Technician assists in the preparation, dispensing, and charging of medications and pharmaceutical supplies under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist. This role works closely with pharmacists and nursing staff to provide safe, accurate, and high-quality patient care. Schedule: PRN (as needed), approximately 1–2 day shifts per week. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES * Prepare the pharmacy for daily operations. * Provide courteous, professional customer service to patients, visitors, and staff. * Enter prescriptions accurately into the pharmacy computer system. * Fill prescriptions accurately and in a timely manner. * Process customer purchases and collect payments. * Offer patients the opportunity to speak with the pharmacist regarding medication counseling. * Order and receive medications and pharmaceutical supplies. * Verify incoming medication orders. * Run daily audit reports, including narcotics and charge posting reports. * Monitor inventory levels and return slow-moving or excess medications as appropriate. * Prepare and reconcile daily deposits. * Maintain appropriate medication par levels. * Perform monthly checks for expired medications. * Assist with quality improvement initiatives and data collection. * Fill stock requisitions for hospital departments. * Assist with inventory management activities. * Order pharmacy supplies through the Central Supply Department. * Restock pharmacy supplies, including vials, bags, and related materials. * Deliver pharmacy mail to the administration building. * Maintain HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality. * Keep the pharmacy clean, organized, and safe. * Recommend opportunities to improve pharmacy services. * Assist the Pharmacy Manager with implementation of new programs. * Perform other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS Required: * High school diploma or equivalent * Minimum of two (2) years of pharmacy technician experience * Active Illinois Pharmacy Technician License (IDFPR) * Familiarity with medical terminology * Strong computer proficiency * Strong clerical and mathematical skills * Excellent organizational and time management abilities * Effective written and verbal communication skills * Outstanding customer service skills * Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and dependability * Ability to complete assigned projects and responsibilities with minimal supervision
