RETAIL PURCHASING MANAGER - DUBLIN BASE, FULL TIME, 40 HOURS - FIXED TERM MAT LEAVE CONTRACT

We are looking for an enthusiastic Retail Purchasing Manager, who is a team player with a positive can-do attitude, to join our Group which is one of Ireland’s Best Workplaces 2023.

Reporting to the Group Retail Manager, you will be supporting day-to-day branch operations to ensure smooth functioning and efficient operation of our branches.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Retail purchasing experience in community pharmacy
  • Pharmacy experience is essential for the role
  • Retail/ Business qualification preferred or equivalent work experience
  • Strong organisation skills to manage multiple locations and multiple tasks efficiently
  • Strong management skills, with very good attention to detail and able to multi-task to ensure continued retail growth in our branches
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • A varied role requiring a high level of flexibility.
  • BGate and Touchstore experience not essential but an advantage
  • IT literate with good MS Office skills
  • As there is a requirement for weekly branch visits a Full clean Irish driving licence with access to a car is essential
  • Fluent in written and spoken English
  • Authorised to work in Ireland
Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Working closely with the Group Retail Manager,:-
- Retail Purchasing -Oversee the group purchasing function. Design and maintain efficient purchasing processes and audits to ensure processes are followed.

  • Category management- Oversee store layouts and merchandising standards.

  • Build and maintain relationships with suppliers.

  • Attend trade shows and new product launches as required
  • Seasonal Purchasing for all branches

  • Support branch operations and sales - Sales reviews, community event support, stock control, category management, sales meetings, merchandising and ordering.

  • Branch Manager Support - Weekly branch visits, daily communications, training and mentoring new and existing managers in all areas of Purchasing and stock management.
  • Customer service - Communicate and feed into sales plan, up to date offers, analysis of latest market trends, promotions, sales days, branch presentation and competitor analysis
  • Audits - Carry out branch audits to monitor stocks, slow movers, new lines, sales trends etc
  • Help develop a strong brand in the community - Collaborate closely with the branches and marketing to organise community retail events, attending as required.
  • Marketing - Work closely with Marketing to produce promotional plans for events and special offers

  • Company Ambassador - Promote our values and behaviours with our staff and our customers

  • Other duties as required to support Group Retail Manager
