SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS:

  • Demonstrated ability to understand and implement written and verbal instructions.
  • Previous customer service experience in a grocery shop preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, management and guests.
  • Physical ability to work under pressure (standing, bending, stooping, etc.).
  • Ability to lift boxes up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to follow instructions.
  • Basic maths, logic and computer skills are required.
  • Knowledge of German (fluent) or English (fluent). Italian language is an advantage.
Responsibilities
  • Providing fast, efficient and friendly customer service.
  • Assisting customers: Accompanying them to the products they are looking for; Delivering products out of reach; Loading or unloading heavy items; Noting and forwarding customer suggestions or requests; Facilitating customer payment at checkout.
  • Receive product deliveries, ensure order and invoice accuracy and identify discrepancies.
  • Ensure that all food products are presented and marketed according to quality standards.
  • Effective co-ordination of stocks and storage of food products.
  • Communicate respectfully and effectively with customers at all times.
  • Quickly and efficiently communicate food needs, adjustments and problems to the Food Manager.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment in accordance with all departmental procedures and federal and state regulations.
  • Perform light cleaning duties as required, such as sweeping, dusting and disposing of packaging.
  • Work as part of a team with colleagues; maintain a positive attitude and willingness to help others.
  • Punctuality: respect working hours and report to work on time.
  • Adhere to all company and department procedures, policies, expectations and quality standards.
