POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a dynamic, customer-focused team member to join our fast-paced, high-energy store. Shifts operate on a rota basis from Monday to Sunday, with working hours between 09:45 and 17:15. We value flexibility and a passion for excellent customer service, whether you’re serving customers face-to-face or preparing signature drinks. This role offers the opportunity to develop skills across various aspects of the business, from food preparation and hygiene to operating specialty equipment and managing delivery services.

  • Customer Engagement: Friendly and engaging personality with strong communication skills. Ability to interact with customers from various backgrounds and deal with any customer queries or complaints in a polite and efficient manner.
  • Working Under Pressure: Capable of maintaining a high standard of work, even during busy periods. As part of a fast-paced environment, it is essential to stay calm under pressure while still delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Interest in Food & Beverages: A keen interest in our product offerings, including bakery items, coffee, and milkshakes. Enthusiasm about the food industry and a willingness to stay updated on new products or menu changes

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

  • Barista Experience: Previous experience operating an espresso machine is highly desirable but not essential. Training will be provided for the right candidate.
  • Cash Handling and Till Operation: Experience with tills and managing cash transactions is preferred. You will be responsible for accurate cash handling and balancing the till at the end of the day.
  • Food Hygiene Knowledge: Possession of a food hygiene certificate would be advantageous but is not essential, as training can be provided. Understanding of food safety practices is a plus.
  • Appearance and Presentation: An excellent standard of personal presentation is required, ensuring you look professional and approachable at all times
Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Deliver exceptional customer service, ensuring every customer is welcomed warmly and assisted with selecting products such as baked goods, coffee, and milkshakes. Build rapport with regular customers and create a friendly, positive atmosphere in the store.
  • Product Preparation:
  • Operate an espresso machine to prepare speciality coffees, including cappuccinos, lattes, and other espresso-based beverages to a high standard.
  • Use a state-of-the-art milkshake machine to create our signature milkshakes, ensuring consistency in taste and presentation.
  • Order Fulfillment: Manage and operate systems for delivery partners (e.g., UberEats, Deliveroo), processing orders quickly and efficiently. Liaise with delivery drivers and ensure orders are correctly packaged and handed over promptly.
  • Hygiene & Cleanliness: Perform daily and regular cleaning duties, ensuring the store remains at the highest standard of cleanliness. Update health and safety records, including cleaning checklists, to ensure compliance with food hygiene and safety regulations.
  • Team Collaboration: Provide cover for other team members as needed. Work collaboratively to support a seamless operation, whether it’s assisting during busy periods or offering help with tasks outside your normal responsibilities.
