Description Title: Retail Sales Associate (PT) Reports to: Director of Retail Operations Supervises: None Position: Part-time, Hourly, (Average 8-10 per month) Location: Wildwood, FL JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES The Retail Sales Associate is responsible for facilitating the sale of Girl Scout merchandise while providing exceptional customer service to girls, adult members, staff, and visitors. This position plays an important role in supporting the Girl Scout mission by ensuring a positive shopping experience and meeting the needs of all customers. This role is based at Camp Wildwood and requires weekend availability (Saturday or Sunday) depending on camp programming. Occasional weekday hours during the summer and flexibility for special events or mobile shop support may be needed. This is a part-time position averaging 8-10 hours per month, with scheduling based on camp activity and retail needs. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Operate the cash register to process sales of Girl Scout merchandise. Accurately handle cash, checks, and credit transactions; issue receipts, refunds, and exchanges; secure cash at all times. Deliver high-quality service to all customers, portraying a positive image of Girl Scouting. Educate customers on the Girl Scout Program Portfolio, uniforms, insignia, and related merchandise. Assist customers with merchandise selection, including demonstrations and product knowledge. Creatively merchandise and promote products to increase sales. Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked store environment. Monitor and report inventory levels to the Director of Retail Operations. Receive, count, price, and stock inventory using vendor packing lists. Assist with documentation for inventory input into the POS system and invoicing. Perform detailed inventory counts (seasonal and annual) and support inventory accuracy. Share customer feedback, concerns, and suggestions with the Director of Retail Operations. Prepare daily sales reports and related documentation; make weekly bank deposits. Support special events, including mobile shop coordination and setup. Perform other duties as assigned. REQUIREMENTS Must be at least 18 years of age. Availability to work weekends (Saturday or Sunday), with some weekday availability during summer camp. Flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends, based on camp and customer needs. Ability to travel occasionally for mobile shops, team meetings, and inventory support. Reliable transportation. Ability to lift 40–50 pounds. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Previous retail and cash-handling experience. Bondable. Strong math and general accounting skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Customer-focused with strong interpersonal skills. Dependable, prompt, courteous, and trustworthy. Computer literate; ability to operate a POS system, 10-key calculator, and basic office software (e.g., Word, Excel). Able to compile sales reports and organize inventory data. Knowledge of Girl Scout Program Portfolio (preferred). Willingness to register as a member of Girl Scouts of the USA. Acceptance and support of the Girl Scout mission and values.
