POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking a knowledgeable and enthusiastic Retail Sales Associate to join our team. This is a customer-facing role in a store that celebrates the world of beverages, from fine wines to craft spirits, local beers, liqueurs, and more.
You don’t need formal training or certifications to apply , just a genuine passion for beverages. We provide educational opportunities to help you grow your expertise. All we ask is that you bring curiosity, enthusiasm, and a commitment to excellent customer service.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Passion for wine, spirits, beer, and liqueurs, with a genuine interest in learning more
  • No formal training required, eagerness to learn is a must
  • Prior retail, hospitality, or bar/restaurant experience is a plus but not required
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Comfort in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities
  • Basic math skills and familiarity with POS systems
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays

Responsibilities
  • Customer Engagement: Greet customers warmly, listen, and learn about their tastes and preferences, and recommend beverages that fit their needs, whether for a casual gathering or a special occasion.
  • Product Knowledge Sharing: Provide approachable, engaging information on wine, spirit categories, beer styles, liqueur uses, cocktail ideas, and food pairings.
  • Sales & Service: Upsell premium or unique products when appropriate, and work toward meeting sales goals while maintaining a focus on excellent customer service.
  • Learning & Development: Actively participate in tastings, training sessions, and ongoing education on beverage trends, production methods, and seasonal selections.
  • Merchandising: Keep displays organized and visually appealing, highlight featured items, and ensure shelves are fully stocked.
  • Transactions: Accurately process purchases, through the POS system.
  • Store Experience: Maintain a clean, safe, and inviting environment for customers and staff alike.
  • Team Collaboration: Support your teammates, share product knowledge, and contribute to a positive and professional workplace.
