RETAIL SALES CONSULTANT

£29K a year. Permanent, Full Time role
Working days Monday to Friday
Weekend Availability required- every alternate Saturday
37.5 hours/37 hours on alternate weeks
Bell House Fabrics & Interiors is a family business with a proud history of offering a unique range of interiors product and services, creating stylish homes for customers across Kent & East Sussex.
Bell House is headed by father and son, Paul and Tom Jenner, who along with their friendly and knowledgeable team, are known for fantastic, personal service and expertise in soft furnishings, wallpaper, paint and more.
We are currently looking for a full time Sales Consultant to join our small in-store team. This is an interesting and varied role in a beautiful setting and dynamic environment.
As a Sales Consultant you will be responsible for the smooth day-to-day operations of the store and supporting the Store Manager in the overall commercial success of the store
Experience in the interior furnishings/retail industry is advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities
  • Supporting the Store Manager in all aspects of running a successful store
  • Creating a welcoming environment for customers in the store
  • You will be predominately customer facing in-store but also speak to customers over the phone and via email. Successful candidates will provide excellent customer service by assisting with enquiries and purchases whilst building and maintaining relationships with customers and suppliers.
  • Develop in-depth product knowledge to understand customers’ needs and how to answer any technical queries.
  • Use bespoke software to assist in calculation and creation of customer orders for made to measure products
  • Manage time efficiently to prioritise tasks
  • Ensuring the Bell House brand image is always showcased with effective visual merchandising and shop floor standard
  • General upkeep of the store including maintaining a clean, tidy and welcoming shopfloor, a well organised stockroom and processing of deliveries.
  • This role will require you to manoeuvre stock and adjust displays which may involve the use of stairs and heavy lifting.
  • This role requires you to work 5 days per 6-day week including every alternate Saturday (no Sunday working)
  • Assuming full responsibility for the store when the Store Manager is absent
