Description

ABOUT US

SpiritCrystals is a growing brand that specialises in natural semi-precious stones — we don’t sell anything man-made or artificial. Our product range includes crystal jewellery, spheres, towers, carvings, and even high-end statement pieces like crystal lamps and interior tiles.
We’re proud to be the first crystal retailer in the UK to make shopping centre retail financially viable, and we’re just getting started. With multiple new locations and franchise plans rolling out between 2024–2026, now is a great time to join our journey.
Our founder is deeply involved in the business, committed to empowering staff with real responsibility, creative input, and personal growth opportunities. We treat our team like future leaders — not just cashiers.
Retail Team Member – SpiritCrystals
We’re looking for a dedicated team member to join our SpiritCrystals stores. You’ll be part of a small, passionate team working across our Derbion Shopping Centre store and Derby Market Hall location.
As a team member, you’ll be responsible for creating an amazing customer experience, keeping the shop tidy and well-stocked, and helping the store thrive.
You’ll also be given ownership of a key product category. For example, one of our team members manages our ring range — tracking which stones, sizes, and price points perform best for each customer segment, and helping shape future buying decisions based on those insights. If you’re analytical and love spotting trends, this is a chance to shine.
At SpiritCrystals, we’re a growing brand — not a corporate machine. We genuinely care about our people’s growth and encourage you to use your talents to improve both the business and your own skills.

Application question(s):

  • What would you do if a customer clearly wanted to browse alone, but your manager wanted you to ‘engage more’?
  • A parent comes in with a curious child who is touching lots of crystals. How do you handle it?
  • How do you keep yourself organized when you have lots of small tasks to complete in a short time?
  • Our team members often help beyond just sales — like content, display, or product ideas. What’s something you could contribute outside the shop floor?
  • A customer insists a crystal you sold them isn’t real and demands a refund in front of other shoppers. You know it is real. How do you handle it?
  • Let’s say you’re responsible for our bracelet range. Sales of rose quartz bracelets drop suddenly over a month. Walk me through how you’d figure out why
  • What type of manager or coworker do you find hardest to work with, and how do you handle it?
  • You’re working alone. A child knocks over and smashes a £200 crystal. At the same time, a delivery driver is demanding you sign for boxes blocking the entrance, and two customers are waiting to pay. What do you do — step by step?
  • You discover a colleague pocketed a crystal worth £15. They’re otherwise a strong team member and beg you not to say anything. What do you do?
  • You’re responsible for our amethyst bracelet category. Sales drop by 50% over two weeks. What are all the possible reasons this could happen, and what steps would you take to confirm which one is correct
  • Tell me about a time you completely failed at something important. What happened, and how did you recover?
  • A customer tells you loudly in front of others that crystals are ‘fake and a scam’ and starts mocking people who are browsing. How do you handle it without losing other sales?
  • Your manager asks you to double sales of a slow-moving product line without changing the price or discounting it. What would you do?
  • Imagine you’re in charge of displays at Derbion. The market hall location is much smaller, and the same products don’t sell as well there. How would you adapt the strategy?
  • If you had complete freedom to set up a new in-store activity or display that would bring in more customers, what would you do?
