The RL organization includes Quest and Ray Ban Meta, work products, augmented and virtual reality software and content, and research and development labs. We plan to release multiple products and technologies over the next few years that will define new categories and advance Meta’s mission of bringing the world closer together.We are looking for a Director of Retail Strategy who will establish the strategic direction of our new retail organization. You will work in highly complex organization, with multiple stakeholder partners, and significant scale. You will lead retail expansion strategy including, real estate development, construction, business modeling, omnichannel integration and marketing tactics.This leader thrives in and enjoys fast-paced, cross-functional, experimental, data-driven environments. A successful leader demonstrates a nuanced understanding of the go-to-market process and how it works across multiple functions (including Marketing, Sales, Partnerships, Product) in the consumer electronics and retail industries. They will both directly and indirectly manage teams that deliver on multiple projects or programs across regions and business groups, drive the learning agenda and success metrics of the team’s experimental projects, and contribute to the community by leading efforts to sustain the company’s mission and values through onboarding, mentoring and partnering.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 12+ years of experience in retail
  • 12+ years of experience in tech and/or consumer electronics
  • 8+ years in retail strategy consulting role or equivalent
  • 8+ years of people management experience
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Marketing or related field
  • 15+ years of experience in retail strategy, sales, or marketing, with at least 7 years in a leadership role
  • Experience working in a global retail organization, with a demonstrated understanding of international markets and cultures
Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic direction to the first party retail team in partnership with executive leadership, setting and deploying clear expectations and goals for the retail organization
  • Lead the retail expansion roadmap including market prioritization, business models and scaling strategies
  • Build out and own a consolidated retail P&L, actively managing performance to budget and short to long-term growth of the business
  • Work closely with the Retail Operations and Cross-functional teams to drive bottoms-up budgets and analysis to align with the Retail P&L
  • Develop and optimize omni-channel and marketing strategies that drive growth and cross-channel insights
  • Lead all retail planning processes to coordinate the team’s interaction with cross-functional planning processes
  • Develop comprehensive programs for key launches, events, and seasonal campaigns
  • Build or enhance existing dashboards, reports, and models to track key performance indicators, including sales, margins, promotions, pricing, marketing and new item performance
  • Create scalable retail playbooks grounded in analytics, consumer behavior, and market opportunity
  • Drive market prioritization and investment planning with data-backed business cases and clear ROI metrics
  • Enhance analysis of broad retail data sources to identify market trends, surface risks and opportunities, and build insights into our retail strategy
  • Build strategic relationships with cross-functional peers and leadership, persuading others in sensitive and complex situations
